Hi, and welcome to my official website.  My name is Evan Atwood, and I am an independent filmmaker, born and raised in Milwaukee, WI among a family of actors.  Having freedom to explore various forms of artistry as a homeschool student, in junior high I started making claymations as a way to tell stories.  Expanding my experience was Old Monk Productions, a group of 8 friends who made short films in high school filled with comedy and visual effects.  We Old Monks won the grand prize at the Milwaukee Spotlight High School Film Fest '05 with Impersonator II, "a tale of shape-shifting espionage..."  Attending Columbia College I was blessed with professional instruction that hones my skill set today.  Ultimately, I want to tell stories that are encouraging, sharing my gratitude to the LORD for sending His son Jesus Christ to die for mankind's sins.
In 2008, my film Solitaire (2007) earned entry into the Beloit International Film Festival and the National Film Festival for Talented Youth in SeattleWatch the trailer for Solitaire at www.solitairethemovie.com.  Teaming up with Jason Servi from Columbia College, I produced Out of Nothing in 2008.  Out of Nothing is about a mother and son that are trying to work past their lifelong tendencies to work instead of connect on a relational level.  The son must decide if he is going to do what it takes to break the habits that even his mother has helped form.  Do we give up when life feels empty, or do we find something out of "nothing?"  Out of Nothing has earned entry into the Wildwood Film Festival, the 15-minutes of Fame Festival and the Milwaukee Short Film Festival.
*Please enjoy the film that I just directed in the 48-hour film project in Milwaukee Brooke (below).  The project that I am directing now is called Forgiven.  Learn more about this short film at www.forgiventhemovie.com.
